‘People are joining Music for the wrong reasons, Everybody is all about the fame’ – Femi Kuti
Legendary Afrobeat icon, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, says he fears for the future of music industry in Nigeria.
When asked about the future of music industry in an interview with HipTv, Femi Kuti predicted that there will be chaos in the industry if musicians keep going after fame and wealth.
According to him, music industry may experience a downturn because everybody is joining music for the wrong reasons.
“We must insist to teach our children music properly unless there would be pandemonium in the industry, Everybody is just about the fame everybody is just joining music for the fame
Everybody is just all about the fame. Fame is the least and fortune and wealth. Music is very godly it’s so important that if it’s not done properly.
“I fear that we are going to have a very sad future in the industry. That’s why I keep insisting young boys and girls should learn a musical instrument.”
